Caucasus Breath of Freedom
This piece is my attempt to capture the raw, untamed spirit of the Caucasus a place where nature feels vast, ancient, and indifferent to human presence.
I focused on conveying a sense of freedom through scale and atmosphere: open sky, distant mountains, and the movement of water cutting through stone. The bridge and ruins hint at a forgotten human story, but they are secondary the landscape dominates, as it should.
Lighting played a key role here. I aimed for a soft, cinematic daylight with volumetric rays breaking through clouds, creating a contrast between warmth and the cold mass of the mountains. Subtle dust and atmospheric perspective were used to push depth and reinforce the feeling of space.
The composition is built to guide the eye:
from the river in the foreground, through the arch of the bridge, toward the distant mountains and sky.
